TV series “Superheroes of Media Literacy”

From Monday, November 23rd, every working day from 9.40 a.m. on the second channel of the Radio-television Serbia, immediately after school lectures, a new feature-animated television series “Superheroes of Media Literacy” will be broadcast. This TV series (consisting of 18 episodes lasting 12 minutes each) is intended for children and young people (digital natives), but also for the general population (digital immigrants). The series is based on educational content from the “Handbook for Media Literacy in the Pre-University Period” and is conceived as an inspiration and occasion for critical reflection and conversation not only at home with family, but also in school classes.

TV series “Superheroes of Media Literacy” will be broadcast in the languages of national minorities on the programs of Radio-Television of Vojvodina in the foreseeable future. It will also be available in a digital version of the Handbook in resources for educators, teachers and professional associates. In this way, the ministry and the project “Support to Media Reforms in the Republic of Serbia” supported the role of public media services in the development of programs dedicated to promoting media literacy among the younger population by creating new program units with emphasis on interactive content.

This television series was realized for the RTS educational-scientific program by Beomedija d.o.o. in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia and under the auspices of the European Commission within the ICE project “Support to Media Reforms in the Republic of Serbia”.
